Some call it home, we like to call it “church” – but everyone agrees that PAX Australia is one of the greatest gamer experiences on the planet! We’re assembling a small group of legendary fans to join us for the ultimate PAX AUS VIP experience!
Let’s go through this epic 4 night, 5 day adventure:
Firstly, the team – the amazing Alanna will be your tour guide for the stay. A veteran of 2 previous PAX Tours, Alanna knows the nerdy ins and outs of Melbourne and is the group’s personal concierge, catering to your every need. She’ll lead the tour group – like minded individuals, all passionate gamers and PAX fans, who will become your good friends by the end of the tour.
Secondly, home base – You’ll be staying at the Luxurious Crown Metropol Hotel, that is literally minutes from the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (the venue for PAX Aus). Stay in an epic king room, that’s just a short stroll away from PAX, with the tiny walk almost completely undercover. Join us by yourself, as a couple , or with a friend, we’ve got bedding configs sorted for everyone. And waiting for you every morning of your stay is a massive buffet breakfast – hot and cold – ready to fuel your day ahead.
Next, PAX. Oh PAX. We’ve got your 3 Day Badge sorted, so every day you stroll in like a king or queen. PAX AUS has become famous for showcasing the local tabletop roleplay and boardgame culture alongside esports, VR and major new game demos. This epic on features a unique lineup of indie developers and industry panels drawn from Australia, New Zealand and Asia, integrating them into a schedule of beloved PAX headliners. You’ll never be short for things to do, see and play over the full 3 show days!
EXPERIENCE THE BEST NERDY MELBOURNE HAS TO OFFER
It wouldn’t be a Legit Nerds Tour if we didn’t explore the nerdy attractions on offer in the local city. Melbourne is Australia’s best destination for pop culture themed venues and we’ve hand picked some of the best, to sprinkle in to our adventures at night.
We’re having welcome drinks and food at StoryVille, which is where our group meet each other for the first time (unless you’re a returning Legit Nerd!). StoryVille is styled around childhood fables that we know and love, with this fairy tale themed venue offers a truly unique and whimsical experience for those who dare to roam throughout its rooms.We’ll be sampling the the Harry Potter themed cocktails!
You’ll be adventuring to one of the world’s most epic VR attractions, Zero Latency. Experience true free roam virtual reality adventures, where our group will take over the venue, battle and co-op our way through amazing virtual worlds.
The fun doesn’t even stop there. Also on the itinerary is Ukiyo, a top rated TripAdvisor Melbourne experience. To call it an escape room is not doing it justice. It’s a journey, a cacophony of emotions, and it’s one of our favourite attractions ever.
Rounding the trip out we have the most excellent B.Lucky & Sons for cocktails, arcade games and dinner, and we’re topping it all off with a visit to iconic Melbourne burger join Easey’s, where you’ll enjoy one of the world’s best burgers while looking down on Melbourne from a sky bound train (you read that right… just wait!)

Making the most of PAX starts the day before, as you arrive with time to get extra comfy at the luxurious Crown Metropol. Located in Crown Towers, the hotel is a short stroll along Southbank, giving you ultimate access to PAX all weekend. Maybe take a dip in the heated infinity pool before settling in, then roll on to our exclusive Legit Nerds welcome party at StoryVille, an incredible cocktail bar encompassing your favorite fairy tales and fantasy worlds. After some Butter Beers and cocktails, it’s back to the hotel to rest up and get ready for the main event.
PAX! PAX! PAX!
The weekend begins in earnest with the convention opening its doors Friday morning. Fuel yourself for the adventure ahead in the best possible way – a hot-and-cold-buffet breakfast spread downstairs in the hotel! You don’t need to worry about being late to the con though – you’ll be eating just a few steps away from the MCEC, so you can save all your energy for PAX itself!
Once you’ve hit up all your favourite booths and panels for the day, we’ll keep the games going with a trip to Zero Latency. Team up or split up as the group takes on the free roaming VR challenges. Then, it’s on to stylish B. Lucky & Sons! Dinner, cocktails and arcade games from past and present are on the menu in this swinging neon speakeasy carved into the heart of Melbourne.
The expo gets even bigger as the weekend crowds rush in, bringing eye-popping cosplays and the awesome atmosphere you can only find at PAX! Again, enjoy the lap of luxury with group breakfast on the MCEC doorstep before you charge back in to the esports contests, freeplay tables and celebrity panels.
Later in the evening we’ll tempt you away from PAX for a taste of the best wider Melbourne can offer. Ukiyo is the most unique and challenging escape experience in the country. Unlock the secrets of the Crumbling Prince, or explore the confines of a derelict space station. Together with the group we’ll try to solves ukiyo’s deepest mysteries. Then, we wrap up the evening with one of Melbourne’s finest gastronomic institutions, enjoying world-class burgers and street art at Easey’s – perched in a train overlooking Collingwood.
Hit the last day of PAX like it’s going out of style! Other than our delicious Legit Nerds breakfast we encourage you to dedicate your whole Sunday to the convention floor – this is the finale of PAX and it’s when you’ll see the most awesome panels and previews, as well as the finals of the Omegathon and other special shenanigans!
Once you’ve squeezed every drop of joy from your PAX badges we’ll let you decide how to kick on – you can have a self-programmed evening to sample some more of Melbourne’s nightlife and the post-pax parties, OR you can saunter back to the Crown Metropol for a well deserved break. This is the night the founders like to celebrate, and there will no doubt be a surprise invite throughout the day 😉
Legit Nerds offer smooth travelling right to the end, as we put a bow on this complete PAX experience. Take your time with a farewell breakfast alongside your tour companions before your final checkout from the Crown Metropol and a last goodbye to the MCEC – a salute to the best weekend of gaming 2021 has to offer.
